Don Good

Successful corporate resurgence and renewal have been the results of Don’s assignments for nearly 30 years.

He has stepped into companies that were headed for failure and implemented activities that have revitalised them. He quickly gets to the key issues through a High Level Review and invariably he has
identified previously unrecognised new markets and new business relationships. By defining then implementing a course of action he has led renewed growth and improved profitability.

He has managed companies as either a full-time or interim CEO or GM in order to implement their Turnaround. He has been an advisor to Boards as they begin the process of renewal.

He has worked at a senior level within the FMCG, Aviation, Apparel, Building, Dairy, Education, Energy, Engineering, Hospitality, Marine, and Rural industries as well as within Government and Not for Profit organisations. 

He has recently returned from an assignment with a Multinational Corporation revitalising its South East Asian Regional operating units based out of Singapore and Kuala Lumpur

Mr. Good holds a B.Com from Auckland University, a Certificate of Direct Marketing from the Marketing Association.  He is a Member of the TMA of Australia, the NZ Institute of Directors, a graduate of their 12 month Regional Directors Development Programme

Mr Good is based in Cambridge and travels throughout NZ, Australia and South East Asia for his clients.

Tim Heeley

With an Engineering & Project Management background in the Oil & Gas Industry Tim has extensive origination and structuring experience in Investment Banking in London covering both equity and debt.  Tim has a strong basis to manage the sometimes volatile but always complex & uncertain environment surrounding business.

He has run a number of private companies as well as a UK PLC as CEO and as Chairman. He has stepped in at short notice as a Director or as an Interim GM/CEO to many medium and smaller companies to help revitalise their operations and profitability as well as advise on growth, strategy and culture.

Since shifting to NZ over 8 years ago and bringing his strong Yorkshireman’s uncanny ability to save money, whilst increasing sales, he has been engaged in numerous corporate finance engagements in the IT, High Performance Sports, Aviation, Engineering, Health Care and Education spaces. He has also assisted several growth and established companies with equity and debt funding.

Mr Heeley holds a BEng(Hons) Civil from the prestigious Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, post-grad qualifications from Texas A&M, Reading and Massey and holds an MBA with Merit from University of Bradford's Faculty of Law and Management, a top 50 globally accredited management school.

He is a NZ Director for the London based Edison Investment Research and a Director of the New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education and Freediving NZ as well as being an owner/director in a number of NZ growth stage companies.  Tim is also a registered AMINZ Mediator focusing on commercial and corporate work.

Mr Heeley is based in Tamahere and travels throughout NZ, the US and Europe for his clients.

Mark Lindon

Mark has over twenty years experience in Investment Banking spanning the Americas, Europe, Asia, and most recently New Zealand, having advised some of the largest and most complex corporates in the world. Mark has a wealth of transaction experience across corporate finance,  capital markets, debt advisory and risk management. Mark takes a 360 degree approach with his clients, using his broad product knowledge to provide transaction agnostic advice to ensure the right solution and outcome. 

Mark has held several senior executive roles as a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank in both the UK and Asia, running Deutsche's FIG franchise during the GFC. He has led many notable “first” transactions, including equity, equity-linked, mezzanine, and a host of debt and risk management products. He was a senior executive in Asia, covering and growing Deutsche Bank’s franchise across all of Asia and Japan. 

In New Zealand, he headed up ANZ's corporate finance division covering all sectors of NZ's economy. He worked on a number of strategic initiatives with high profile New Zealand clients, including inter alia, Port of Tauranga, Air New Zealand, Fonterra,  Auckland Council, ACC, SKY, Spark, Crown Fibre  and pioneered ANZ's strategy to integrate big data and analytics into corporate finance, in partnership with Google. He was a member of ANZ’s Institutional Leadership team. His passion for technology and growth companies was born in New Zealand.

Mark thrives in different cultures and understands what it takes to grow businesses in new frontiers.  Mark is a proud Brit and Kiwi dual citizen, and given his Devonshire roots, he is just as comfortable in a suit as he is in a pair of Jandals.  Based in Auckland, Mark now travels throughout the US, Asia, and Europe for his clients using his global connections to help companies thrive.

Colin Groves - Advisory Board Chair

Colin is an entrepreneurial business strategist, marketer, business mentor and investor. 

Colin has spent the past 25 years primarily as Director of M&A at Tetra Laval, one of the world’s largest private company and maker of the renowned Tetra Pak packaging solutions and DeLaval milk processing machinery. He has also held roles at Informix Software, and US healthcare multinational Johnson & Johnson. 

Colin is a NZ Citizen, he is a rugby businessman, a Cornish / Kiwi. A former English Schools & Colts rugby international chartered accountant, Colin is a serial investor and director, a business strategist, mentor and marketeer, with a wealth of knowledge in the start-up space in both NZ and UK. 

Colin is Chair of Oriens Capital, the Agri Group of Companies, which includes dairy consumables business, Deosan, Friendly Manager and Waikato Rugby.

He also sits on the Boards of Sprout Agri-Tech, BayVenues, SeaDragon, TRGentics, Zoomz, Cornish Pirates Rugby, Cornish Rebels Rugby League and Truro City Football Club.


Phil Taylor - Advisory Board

Phil has over 20 years experience in providing legal advice on Mergers and Acquisitions.

He has been a Partner in the Corporate Team at Tompkins Wake for the last 14 years (and Chair of Partners 2017 – 2020), and in that time has undertaken many significant corporate transactions including acting for WEL Networks on the $189 million buyout of 50% of UFF from Crown Fibre, acting for then NZX listed Affco on the $180 million takeover by Talley Group and advising Open Country Dairy on a $50 million capital raise.

He also has a technology focus and has set up the WNT Ventures incubator fund, Hillfarrance venture fund and acted for a number of high growth technology companies and investors in these companies.

Phil has extensive international experience having previously worked in Sydney at Gilbert+Tobin and at Fonterra where he was part of the M&A team on the establishment of a significant $250m joint venture in China.

With strong strategic and relationship skills Phil often works alongside clients as their trusted strategic advisor.

The growth of any entity requires multiple talents. All the M3 Principals have sat in the Boss Chair and had our own skin in the game, but we do not profess to have it all.

We actively seek out specialists in areas that your entity requires in order for it to enjoy a long-term sustainable return to full health and robust fitness.

Like us, our Associates have had their own businesses, but have chosen to specialise in, or focus on certain aspects of ensuring an entity continues to enjoy full health.

After a complete assessment of the entity and agreement on the remedial action required we bring them in, as necessary, to ensure that your entity gets the best care possible.

For some it may be as simple as making sure that they get the best buying prices on a range of their P&L Expense items...or a CFO to lift the quality of the reporting to a Board and tighten up expenses that are getting out of control...or a specialist in Supply Chain Management.

Paul Logan - Advisor

With more than 20 years of successfully building and running sales, business development and marketing teams for start-up and middle market auto, primary industry, education and technology companies, Paul Logan has a proven track record of aggressively driving revenue growth.  

Paul’s chief strengths stem from his broad executive experience working with management executives and other key decision makers to quickly understand and meet critical business objectives on both sides of each relationship.

He has a long, successful career of assisting companies to establish or reorganise their direct, telesales and channel sales organizations to show immediate, needed results.  His innovative business development approach has consistently proven critical in opening up new avenues for business growth by pursuing and executing outstanding customer relationships in both consumer and business to business markets.  

Paul has held senior General Management positions in both Auto and Technology companies. As the GM for the Farmer Motor Group he achieved and held onto the Dealer of the year for Volkswagen and drove their Audi dealership to become one of the top 3 dealers in NZ for the 3 years of his leadership.
He currently sits on the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Council.
